There were certainly indications at their fabulous engagement session, but Amy & Cris were a little quiet and shy, and I didn’t realize just how fun and unique these two are, until the day of their wedding. The first signs came early, when Amy started throwing high kicks, peace signs and Matrix moves due to excitement, moments before her First Look with Cris. Other indications of their awesomeness came during the reading of Adam Sandler lyrics in the middle of the ceremony and the Mindy Kaling book excerpt read aloud before dinner. This wedding was completely “Amy and Cris” from start to finish – from the fabulous chucks that both the bride and groom wore to the end-of-night favors which were “morning remedy kits” for those that had partied hard. As Mindy Kaling writes in her book (in the excerpt that was shared with bemused wedding guests during the reception), “In the Shakespearean comedies, the wedding is the end, and there isn’t much indication of what happily ever after will look like day to day. In real life, shouldn’t a wedding be an awesome party you throw with your great pal, in the presence of a bunch of your other friends? A great day, for sure, but not the beginning and certainly not the end of your friendship with a person you can’t wait to talk about gardening with for the next forty years”. Well said, Mindy, and mission accomplished, Amy & Cris. Congrats on an awesome party, and I hope you two enjoy the next forty plus years of being great pals. :)
