I always love the toasts at weddings because I learn so much about my clients. At Bobbi and Tim’s wedding, I learned that they met at a bar, courtesy of Tim’s godfather. I might have missed the particulars, but it sounds like there were several women there but Tim was immediately drawn to Bobbi because she was the only one who was mesmerized by the game on tv. So cute! For Bobbi, a self-described tom boy who would have been more comfortable walking down the aisle in jeans, Tim is her perfect match. These two love all sorts of sports, and Tim even has his dream job as a sportswriter for USA Today.
Their wedding was a perfect reflection of the two of them. Bobbi grew up in Kentucky and attended the University of Kentucky, so accordingly, the wedding colors were blue and white, there were UK details all over the reception, AND (for the coolest detail of all) the guests watched the Kentucky Derby on massive screens during the cocktail hour. As Tim’s alma mater, UMD was the perfect location for the wedding. Bobbi and Tim were married at the Memorial Chapel on campus, and after a stop for portraits at the terrapin statue at McKeldin Library, they took a UMD shuttle to The Samuel Riggs Alumni Center. And their first dance, appropriately enough, took place under a stained glass window of the Maryland flag.
Thanks, Bobbi & Tim, for letting me be a part of your day. I hope you’re presently relaxing and living it up in Hawaii!
