Oh my goodness, these two are so flippin’ cute. They showed up to the engagement session giggling and happy, and I knew we were in for a great afternoon. Courtney and Dan have amazing chemistry, and all I had to do was point the camera at them and wait for the laughter or flirtation to ensue. I was in photographer heaven. These two actually attended the same high school but had lost touch until reconnecting via Facebook a few years ago while Dan was deployed in Iraq. (Thank you, Mark Zuckerberg, for bringing these two together!) Even though it was long distance, Courtney and Dan immediately knew that they had something special, which was finally confirmed when Dan returned home safely and they were able to go on their first date!
C & D chose Georgetown as the location for their engagement session, which was perfect for so many reasons. First of all, they were able to share a meal and a bottle of wine before the shoot, which may have contributed to their overall giggly demeanor (and which I now recommend to all of my engagement session clients, of course :), and the garden area where we started the shoot – behind the Old Stone House on M Street – was absolutely perfect. It was quiet, empty and gorgeous, and it was also the spot where Dan proposed! Then we were able to finish up the shoot by the waterfront and the new Georgetown fountain, just as the sun was setting. It was pretty, pretty, pretty. I cannot wait to see these two get married in September!!

They were like this the whole session. So cute.
