May 12th was a gorgeous day, and it was the perfect day for these two Jessies (well, one Jessie and one Jesse :) to get married after years of dating. They were married in the morning at the lovely, small chapel at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, and everyone celebrated with lunch and dancing afterward at the Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. Because of their tight timeline, J & J were receptive to doing their portraits after the reception. I’ve only done post-reception couple portraits once before, but I can now attest that it is one of my favorite things. There is nothing like photographing a newly-married, elated couple in a quiet setting with no one around and no rush to get anywhere. Thank you, Jessie & Jesse, for inviting Wale and I along to your gorgeous wedding. Congrats, you two!

This is a great picture by Wale of Jessie and her Dad before they entered the church sanctuary.

Lovely flowers by Growing Wild Floral Company and WALL-E pez dispensers as cake-toppers (that was the movie J&J saw on their first date!).

And after all of their guests went home, Jessie and Jesse were ready to head in to the gardens for portraits of them alone.

A great capture by Wale:

Koda, J & J's Siberian Husky, came to the gardens for a few minutes of portraits with the newlyweds. He was one of the cutest dogs I've ever seen!
