There are some weddings that are so special that it is hard for me to put in to words how touched I am by what I witness, and it is hard for me to express how much I adore the couple. Julia and Jon’s remarkable wedding is a good example of this. As a wedding photographer, I am privileged to witness the poignant moments of a couple’s wedding day, and in Jon and Julia’s case, each moment made me adore them more and more. I saw the sincere tears and happy laughter of the bride’s sister, Dana, when Julia put on her wedding dress. I saw the loving smile and happiness that came over Jon, normally a rather stoic guy, when he first saw Julia. I was there, and cried a little myself, when Julia gathered with her girlfriends and “surrogate” moms to reminisce about her beloved, late mother. I saw the way Jon and Julia looked at one another before signing the Ketubah and when standing together under the Chuppah. And I heard the loving and meaningful toasts made by the people that love Julia and Jon most: their beloved parents, their childhood friends, and their close siblings.
It was beautiful to witness these two get married. Julia and Jon are a perfect blend of enthusiasm and vigor (Julia) and calm thoughtfulness (Jon), and both are sincere, lovely individuals. They both welcomed me (and the other wedding vendors) with warmth, appreciation and trust, and it was a JOY to photograph their wedding day. Congratulations, Jon + Julia. I love you guys.
