This was a remarkable wedding, and a lovely reminder of what weddings should be. Despite the woes of having to replan their entire wedding, Nina and Mac were absolutely ELATED to be getting married. Instead of thinking about what had changed about their wedding day, they focused on the joy of getting married. And they were ecstatic. Their joy infused every aspect of the wedding, and it was the most magical day. Although they could no longer get married at their alma mater and where they met, Duke University, they still exchanged vows there. It was such a sweet and intimate moment as they read their hand-written vows aloud to one another in the shade of the Duke Chapel. Later, they made it official in an intimate and sweet ceremony at St. John Fisher Chapel, and were surprised with Duke pom poms when they exited as husband and wife. And, finally, they ended the night at the lovely Parlour at Mann’s Chapel. They dined under the moonlight, danced under string lights, and had a final, private dance to Toto’s “Africa”. Like I said, it was a magical day. One of my favorite weddings to date. Congratulations to the lovely newlyweds!
