Katie + Charlie have known each other for half their lives. They met at a party when they were both fourteen years old (which was clearly a memorable evening even for their moms who mentioned their impressions of that event during their toasts). Katie and Charlie have dated – on and off – since that fateful night. Covid affected their original wedding plans for the Carolina Inn so the duo adapted, switched gears, and planned a beach-side wedding instead. While vacationing as teenagers on Bald Head Island, where Katie’s mom has a home, the duo mused that the beach would be the perfect spot to get married. Well, Covid intervened and made those youthful dreams come true. Katie + Charlie had a lovely and intimate ceremony right on the beach, surrounded by their families. Afterwards, they had a relaxed celebration on the sound side of the island and had their first dance as the sun set over the marina. It was a gorgeous day, one that perfectly suited this relaxed couple. And now Katie + Charlie will have a second opportunity to celebrate their nuptials – this time with all of their friends and family – next summer at the Carolina Inn, their original wedding venue. I’m honored that I get to photograph both events for this adorable pair of newlyweds. Congratulations, Katie + Charlie! I’ll see you guys next August.
